These amounts will be mailed to the winners just as soon the Fair Secretary, Miss Maye Flentye, can get her records worked up and receive the deposit from the State. The local amount is already available but will be held and awarded at the same time. The main credit for this fair goes to J. R. Sams, County Agent, whose enthusiasm and earnest effort concerning the betterment of Polk County has aroused many citizens to lend him all the support within their V A . .1 ft 1 1 J power, in iact tne president or our local fair, although busy at this time, served merely to en courge and help Mr. . Sams in his worthwhile efforts. The success of this fair more than convinced mm . m . . m 4 all that the tair has meant a great deal to Tryon township in a community way. It has shown us just what Tryon township is at present and its possibilities. Credit should be given the Bal- lenger Company for their loan of tables and show cases and also to Carolina Hardware Company for the loan of a show case. The Tryon Electric Company also in stalled lights free of charge. The Green Lumber . Company furnished lumber with the privi lege of returning all that had not been cut and receive credit. The Boy Scouts rendered a very cheerful and efficient service both in preparing the place for ex hibit and assisting in every- way possible the day of the fair. The use of the building was granted free of charge by Mr. Riebling the owner. Mr. Kiebling was seen personally by C. W. Ballen ger and showed a keen interest , in the fair and would not even (consider a charge for the use of farm. Miss Lola Gibbs was the guest of Lucy Taylor last week. The men who are painting Coopers Gap church seem to be getting along nicely. We V are having it painted inside and out.
